Last Sunday, a beautiful memorial mass

This past Sunday the community liturgy focused on celebrating the lives of our loved ones who have died.

The idea originated as a memorial service for Vikki’s grandmother, who died in 1994. The purpose was to make up for the quite inadequate funeral that she had at the time and also to have a chance to say and share the words that shock, grief and other emotions prevented Vikki from saying at the time. This was  an opportunity as a community to celebrate, remember and pray for each of our family members and friends who have died. In the tradition of the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos), we brought pictures or symbols of our deceased loved ones and placed on the altar.
